The former St. Agnes church building is one of the most significant examples of brutalist architecture in Berlin. Its striking design language combines exposed concrete with clean lines and minimalist aesthetics. Combined with contemporary art, this creates an extraordinary space that offers room for new ways of thinking and new types of events—rough, impressive, and at the same time open to change.
After careful renovation by Arno Brandlhuber, the building was reopened in 2015 as a gallery and event venue. The original structure remains palpable and lends a special atmosphere to every use. The ensemble is complemented by a light-flooded showroom and a green inner courtyard, which is also suitable for outdoor events.
At the center of the building is the Galerie König, which presents international contemporary art and has made St. Agnes one of Berlin's most important art venues. The interplay of architecture and exhibition creates an exciting dialogue between space and work that inspires visitors again and again.
Today, St. Agnes is not only an art location with international appeal, but also a place of exchange—for talks, dinners, product presentations, conferences, or film productions. Architecture, art, and content come together here in a unique combination.
